The aim of this project is to lay the foundations for an industrial hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) process of low grade and very wet European lignite and biomass raw materials under subcritical and supercritical conditions for the production of liquid fuels and chemicals.
The project has planned an intensive experimental program including experiments in the field of batch and continuous catalytic liquefaction of HTL in an inert and reactive atmosphere and the improvement of liquid products in order to increase the technological readiness (TRL) from the current level 2 to 5.
