On March 19 this year, a representative of the Central Mining Institute – National Research Institute participated in the Forum of Notified Bodies acting within Directive 2014/28/EU concerning explosives for civil uses. The meeting was hosted by the German Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und –prüfung (BAM) institute in Berlin.
Participation in the Forum is an element of the cyclic international cooperation of experts from all Europe. The meetings provide an environment for harmonising procedures, exchanging experience and developing shared safety standards regarding the conformity assessment of explosives.
The Institute’s outstanding position on the map of European certification is worth noting. GIG-PIB is the only body in Poland notified within the scope of Directive 2014/28/EU. The Institute is part of an elite circle of only 10 such bodies in all of Europe.
The Central Mining Institute – National Research Institute (Notified Body no. 1453) has been actively participating in the activities of European regulatory bodies since 2004, confirming its competence and key role in ensuring the safety of products introduced on the European single market.
