The partners of project Life POPWAT met on 10th September 2020 in Hajek (Czechia). The site visit was carried out at a functioning installation for passive water treatment using a wetland system, established at the location of the Czech pilot action of project Life POPWAT.
Project Life POPWAT is based on an innovative technology for the removal of pesticides from water using a wetland system. The technology does not require constant operation, and it is both more stable and less expensive compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, the solution can be implemented in locations with limited access to infrastructure. The technology is named “Wetland+” and is based on reactive zones integrated with waterlogged areas.
