The Central Mining Institute participates in the MOLOC project - “Low carbon urban morphologies. New urban morphologies, new management systems, new challenges for cities in the face of the transition to a low carbon economy”.
The first international meeting of this project took place in Suceava (Romania). The programme included a plenary session dedicated to the best practices that contribute to achieving the goals of the low carbon policy, as well as workshops conducted by the European Association “Energy Cities”, which served to identify the key barriers that hinder the implementation of low carbon solutions at a local level.
The MOLOC project is funded by the Interreg Europe programme. Its leader is the city of Lille, and its partners include the following cities: Turin (Italy), Hamburg (Germany) and Suceava (Romania), as well as the Central Mining Institute, in cooperation with the city of Katowice and the European Association “Energy Cities”. During the meeting, the Polish part of the project was represented by GIG delegates: Beata Urych, D.Sc., Alina Rejman-Burzyńska, M.Eng., and Aleksandra Tokarz, M.Sc., as well as Monika Niemczyk from Żory City Council and Daniel Wolny from Katowice City Council.
