A delegation of the North China Institute of Science and Technology led by the Vice-Chairman for International Cooperation, Mr Gu Xiugen, visited GIG on the 20th of September, 2018.
The main subject of the visit concerned new techniques and technologies employed in hard coal mining as well as issues of work safety. GIG is well respected within the international scientific community regarding these topics.
The Central Mining Institute has been involved in close scientific cooperation with Chinese mining institutions for many years. The scientific work conducted at the Institute forms the basis of modern and safe mining in Poland, and many of its achievements have found applications in worldwide mining, including China, e.g. the SOS seismological observation system as well as the directed hydraulic fracturing technology together with the facility for its performance.
