Laboratory of Advanced Energy Technologies

The scope of research and development works contains tests on low-emission energy technologies and clean coal technologies, including:

  • Tests of thermal-chemical processes of coal, biomass and waste conversion - combustion, gasification, pyrolysis, liquefaction. Tests focused mainly on the development of modern solid fuel gasification technologies for syngas and gas rich in hydrogen.
  • Tests of processes of CO2 acquisition from solid fuel thermal-chemical conversion processes.
  • Characteristics of solid fuels in the field of reactivity in processes of thermal-chemical conversion.
  • Tests on the application of catalysts in the processes of thermal-chemical conversion of solid fuels.
  • Tests of gas purification and preparing from gasification for usage in power and chemical industries.
  • Eco-toxicological tests with bio-indication method.
  • Tests of materials in the field of specific surface, porosity, sorption of vapours and gases.
  • Tests in the area of differential scanning calorimetry.
  • Thermal-gravimetric tests, including pressure conditions.
  • Tests in the area of inversed chromatography.
  • Spectrometric tests - measurement of high resolution spectra in the full infrared spectral range: close (NIR), middle (Mid-IR) and far (Far-IR) for samples in solid, liquid and gas forms.
  • Energetic and environmental use of nano-particle properties of metals and metal oxides, including the use of iron nano-oxides in the processes of generation and storage of hydrogen.
