Laboratory of Technical Acoustics

Domestic and external environment - noise

  • investigations into the impact of traffic and/or industrial noise intensity in wide areas;
  • performing of acoustic maps using the GIS and GPS methods;
  • performing of assessment opinions relating to the impact of industrial plants, traffic routes, municipal economy objects etc., on the environment with respect to vibro-acoustic hazards (visual presentation in the form of computer maps);
  • elaboration of vibro-acoustic predictions for investments and modernized objects at different realization stages;
  • design of road acoustic baffles;
  • in-situ investigations into the efficiency of shielding in areas protected by acoustic baffles;
  • investigations into the state of impact of noise on people inhabiting apartment buildings, public buildings etc., originating from sources localized in those buildings or apart from them.

Buildings, structures - mechanical vibrations

  • investigations into the state of impact of mechanical vibrations, transferred through the foundation, on the constructions of buildings and structures;
  • investigations into the state of impact of mechanical vibrations, transferred through foundations and building constructions, on people inhabiting buildings;
  • investigations into the state of impact of vibrations on machinery supporting constructions in mine tower-type headgears.

Investigations using vibration inductor

  • investigations into the resistance of technical objects to vibrations in conformity with the requirements determined by the customer;
  • investigations into the resonance frequency of technical objects;
  • investigations into the efficiency of vibro-insulating systems for car seats, seats of operators of transporting/working machines, etc.;
  • investigations into the impact of mechanical vibrations on people in the framework of research projects.

Machinery acoustic activity

  • measurement of sound power levels of machines, technical devices using the survey method in conformity with the PN-EN ISO 3746:1999 standard;
  • measurement of noise emitted by machinery at a work station in conformity with the PN-EN ISO 11200 to 11204 standards.

Sound insulation performance

  • determination of sound insulation performance of cabins, in conformity with the PN-EN ISO 11957:2000 standard;
  • measurement of sound insulation performance in buildings, in conformity with PN-EN ISO 140-4:2000, PN-EN ISO 717-1:1999, PN-B-02151-3:1999 standards.

Metrology of devices for noise and mechanical vibration measurements

  • calibration: sound level meters, acoustic calibrators, band filters, vibrometers, vibration transducers, vibration calibrators;
  • checking of devices for machinery vibration diagnostics.

Thermo-visual technique, infrared technique

  • investigations into thermo-insulation performance of walls of buildings, structures and pipelines for heating purposes;
  • investigations into the thermal state of industrial waste dumping sites, especially mining-related, and coal heaps;
  • investigations into the thermal state of machinery, technical devices including devices for the power engineering sector, devices of the horizontal mine transport;
  • examinations of people for the needs of medical diagnostics;
  • early detection of spontaneous fires in underground mines by means of pyrometers.

Electrostatic properties of products

Tests of electrostatic properties of products are carried out in a climate chamber with the following parameters:

  • chamber capacity: 21 m3;
  • lock capacity: 8 m 3;
  • temperature range: from 16oC to 30 oC;
  • relative humidity range: from 4% to 80%.

We carry out tests on the basis of standardised and own methods.
The scope of test activities is given in the table below. The tests are carried out within the framework of the AB005 accreditation.

In addition, we comprehensively realise the EPA zones (ESD Protected Area):

  • EPA zones audits.
  • we carry out the projects of zones;
  • implementation of the zones;
