Project description:

The main objective of the project is to develop a sustainable and efficient technology for extracting phosphorus from phosphorus-rich ash. Two approaches will be used:

  • metallurgical, where selected process parameters, such as the type and amount of reductants (biocarbons) and other additives, temperature, process pressure, will be studied to optimize the performance of the phosphorus extraction process;. additionally, various metallurgical systems including the use of vacuum will be analyzed,
  • a novel approach to phosphorus extraction using microwaves.

In the following tasks, various phosphorus-based products will be designed and the feasibility of using these products and the generated waste in construction, agriculture and for the production of sorption materials with the Zero Waste economy in mind will be evaluated.

Source of financing:
This project has received funding from the National Centre for Research and Development within the ERA-NET Co-fund ERA-MIN3 Programme.
